What We Fund

The Snohomish Education Foundation funds programs in the Snohomish School District, including innovative classroom grants to teachers that benefit student learning. These grants are applied for by District teachers and staff. Scholarships to graduating seniors at Glacier Peak, Snohomish, and AIM High School. District-wide programs that need funding. These funds are granted to various District projects through SEF fundraising as the funds become available. Our priorities are to curriculum in the Snohomish School District that include (but not limited to):

  • Literacy and Arts.  Strong reading and writing skills are the heart of academic success in all subjects. They are also closely linked to future employment. Throughout our District, SEF grants pay for textbooks, classroom libraries, leveled books, teaching resources for literacy education at all grade levels, music and art programs.
  • STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  The 21st century workplace demands a labor force with these skills. In response, the Snohomish School District offers curriculum and program innovations that seek to deliver the best in STEM education. The Snohomish Education Foundation works closely with the District to ensure that students and teachers have the technology, equipment, programs and local industry partnerships to offer a comprehensive STEM experience within our schools.
  • Disadvantaged.  The Snohomish School District strives to provide student success on every level to each of its more than 9,300 students. Rigorous curriculum and varied programs meet the individual needs of students and challenge them to excel academically. The Foundation has a long history of funding programs that will help in meeting the goals of the District for students who are advanced as well as disadvantaged. We also partner with the SSD to fund programs such as the Snohomish School District’s Summer Academy, Credit Recovery Program, Future Problem Solvers and other achievement programs that address non-academic barriers to learning.
  • Health and Enrichment.  Since its inception in 1986, the Snohomish Education Foundation has sought to enrich and extend students’ educational experiences in many different ways through fitness, healthy living and activities and service learning.

How We Raise Money For The Benefit Of All Snohomish Students

The Snohomish Education Foundation is funded solely by private contributions of individuals and businesses. We hold two major fundraisers each year; our Annual Auction in the fall at Tulalip Resort Casino and our Annual Fundraising Breakfast in the spring at Glacier Peak High School.
