2019 SEF Annual Auction

2019 Annual Auction raises over $263,000!

Community support for education raises the bar for student success at Snohomish Education Foundation

“On behalf of the students, families and educators in the Snohomish School District, we send a resounding ‘thank you’ for the community’s generosity during our annual auction,” said Foundation Auction Chair, Robin Stefanson. “In just one student-focused evening, community members gave $263,000 – all of which will support classroom activities in our schools K-12 and add to the funds available for scholarships for graduating high school seniors.”

One of the evenings big ticket items – 3 custom steel firepits, created by fabricating & manufacturing students at SHS, led by teacher, Matt Johnson

Three Hundred Twenty guests attended the festive fundraising event at the Tulalip Orca Ballroom, benefiting student programs in the Snohomish School District. Students kicked off the evening on a musical note. Members of the Glacier Peak High School Symphonic Choir received a rousing applause for their songs. Superintendent Dr. Kent Kultgen’s inspiring message about the power of great teachers was followed by a stirring Fund-A-Need message from Glacier Peak High School Science Teacher, Tami Caraballo, finalist for Washington State Teacher of the Year.

”Snohomish is a special and a generous community, and we support our schools and our young people. I am humbled and inspired each year when I see people joyfully and generously giving their time and resources to invest in the future by strengthening education today,” said Stefanson.

Included in this year’s fundraising totals was $68,795 raised specifically for classroom grants that will be distributed to teachers and staff to use in K-12 classrooms throughout the Snohomish School District. As Caraballo reminded the auction guests, â€œOver the years, the Foundation has awarded more than $825,000 to add to the learning programs in our schools.”
