Snohomish Education Foundation Administers a Record Amount of Scholarships Awarded to Snohomish School District Students

The Snohomish Education Foundation is proud to announce that a record $203,049 in scholarship dollars will be awarded to the Snohomish School District class of 2013 graduating seniors. This amount is comprised of 179 individual awards provided to exceptional students. This amount represents a 34% dollar increase over last year. These scholarships were funded by a combination of generous local businesses, community organizations, community members and the Snohomish Education Foundation.

Carol Robinson, Foundation Trustee and Scholarship Committee Chair commented, “This is an amazing community that truly cares about its next generation’s success. The Foundation Board would like to thank our local businesses, service organizations and fellow community members. We could not offer these exceptional young adults this opportunity without their support.”

A ceremony honoring sponsors and recipients will be held at Snohomish High School on May 23rd, Glacier Peak High School on May 30th and Aim High School on June 6th. All three ceremonies will begin at 7:00 p.m.

“Thank you for selecting me as the recipient for the Snohomish Education Foundation Scholarship. These funds have lightened my financial burden so that I may focus more on my studies,” said recipient Kaden Nugent.

The Snohomish Education Foundation administers scholarships for local businesses, organizations, and families allowing community members to create an ongoing legacy and a brighter future for local students. Scholarships can be established with various criteria including educational and/or community involvement requirements.
